Project Glass

Description

At Google [x], I was part of the core user experience team that worked on Project Glass—a bold experiment in wearable computing. While the industrial design drew plenty of attention (and criticism), my work focused on the foundational elements that made the product function.

I led early-stage mechanical architecture development, solving complex human factors challenges to ensure the hardware balanced comfortably across the face and fit on everyone. I ran extensive prototyping to simplify the optical system, reducing adjustment complexity through hands-on testing and iteration.

I also co-developed the novel bone conduction audio system—contributing to everything from driver design to user testing and integration—and led the packaging design for the Explorer Edition. That packaging earned a Dieline award and set a new internal benchmark at Google for recyclable, paper-based product presentation.
