Compiler Cups

Description

The Compiler Cups are a love child of art and math—geodesic vessels slipcast in California from porcelain, with a matte exterior and a smooth, glazed interior. Each finish was carefully selected for a satisfying hand feel and easy cleaning. The wide mouth enhances aroma and creates the perfect canvas for latte art, while the three nesting sizes are purposefully scaled for espresso, cappuccino, and lattes.

This project began as a provocation: how far can you go designing a highly tactile, visual object entirely in code? Long before today’s generative design tools, I built the geometry in Python and Rhino, machined the master on a CNC, and partnered with a local ceramics studio to perfect the casting and glazing.

The Compiler Cups embody a fusion of digital precision and analog warmth—designed in a terminal, made for human hands.
